Encouragers are the quiet champions who inspire and uplift you, empowering you to stay positive and confident. They offer steadfast support, lifting you up during challenging times.

They are known for building bridges instead of walls. They foster collaboration and spark motivation. They help you move forward with renewed strength and determination.

So what do encouragers bring to your life:

Biblical examples

1. Moses, Aaron, and Hur: A lesson in support and teamwork [Exodus 17:8-13 (KJV)]

During the Israelites’ battle with the Amalekites, Moses stood on a hill, holding the rod of God. As long as his hands were raised, Israel prevailed. But when his arms grew tired and lowered, the battle turned in favour of the Amalekites.

Recognizing his fatigue, Aaron and Hur stepped in. Instead of taking over, they supported Moses by holding up his arms, ensuring the rod remained raised until Israel achieved total victory.

Deborah, a prophetess and judge, played a pivotal role in Israel’s deliverance from oppression. Barak, a military leader, was tasked with leading Israel’s army into battle against the powerful Canaanite forces led by Sisera.

Barak, however, hesitated. He told Deborah, “If you will go with me, I will go; but if you will not go with me, I will not go” (Judges 4:8). Recognizing his fear, Deborah agreed to accompany him, providing the encouragement and moral support he needed. Together, they led Israel to a decisive victory.

Biblical mentorships that inspire

While the Bible does not specifically use the term “mentor,” it highlights numerous individuals who embody the qualities of mentorship. Their guidance and support led to remarkable outcomes.

• Jethro and Moses: Jethro’s advice on delegation transformed Moses’ leadership approach. [Exodus 18:13-27]
• Moses and Joshua: Through mentorship, Moses prepared Joshua to lead Israel into the Promised Land. [Exodus 24:13 to Joshua 1:1]
• Naomi and Ruth: Naomi’s guidance paved the way for Ruth’s remarkable destiny. From a widow to the marriage of a wealthy man that placed her in the genealogy of King David. [Ruth 2-4]
• Elijah and Elisha: Elijah’s mentorship empowered Elisha to carry on with greater prophetic impact. [1 & 2 Kings]
• Paul and Timothy: Paul nurtured Timothy into a strong and faithful leader in ministry. [Acts 16 & 1 Timothy 1:2]
• Mordecai and Esther: Mordecai mentored Esther and she became a queen despite her captive status. [Esther 2:5-17]

To thrive in life, seek out the Encouragers and Mentors who challenge and inspire you. Identify those who offer guidance, stability, and unwavering support as you pursue your dreams and unlock your full potential. These destiny helpers play a pivotal role in your journey.

Embracing these individuals can transform your life, propelling you toward greatness. But don’t stop there, ask yourself: are you in a position to be a destiny helper for someone else?
